Disney Princess has been a big part of my life. It all began when I was a child and I watching the kindness of Cinderella, Mulan finding her inner warrior or seeing Pocahontas respect the earth.
Now as an adult and parent of 5 girls, I have been able to see the growth of Disney Princesses. It gives me joy to have my daughters, not only watch the princesses that I grew up with, but also learn to be brave like Merida and learning to make their dreams come true like Tiana.
As I learned that dreams do come true, This week I get to experience one of my dreams come true.
My dear friend Elayna Fernandez is one of 6 amazing influencers that were selected by Disney Princess as a #WeAllGrow Storyteller. Disney Princess granted Elayna the opportunity to bring her bestie and attend the #WeAllGrow Latina summit, and she chose me.
The day that I met Elayna at church, I would’ve never thought how much our friendship would grow. At that time, I was working on finding what my calling in life was.
As our friendship grew, I got to know more of what she did and know more about her beautiful family.
Elayna helped me find my calling by taking me through a passion test. If that wasn’t enough, Elayna and her husband Taylor Bare, helped me set up this amazing blog.
I have learned so much about blogging from Elayna. Thanks to her dedication, I was introduced to the #WeAllGrow Latina Summit.
The #WeAllGrow Latina summit is on their 7th year of fulfilling their mission of helping Hispanic digital influencers connect.
As they stand by their motto of:
“When one grows, we all grow”,
They have been able to have veteran and first time bloggers network with each other and help each other grow.
When I found out that Elayna was selected as Mulan, I couldn’t think of any other princess she could represent. Just like Mulan, Elayna can stand for what she believes in and shes not afraid to be herself.
Disney Princesses have been a big influence through my life. Everything from my love of all that inhabits this beautiful earth, to being able to find who I am and work to make my dreams come true.
How Disney Princesses has Influenced me Growing up and as a Parent.
- Snow White, “When the raindrops come tumbling, remember your the one who can fill the world with sunshine.” We all go through adversities in life. The way we face them is what changes the outcome. Remembering to stay positive through my trials has brought me and those around me happiness.
- Cinderella, “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” The dreams that we desire with all our heart is not only a desire. A dream is designed to show our passion and purpose in life.

Mulan, “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful one of all.” As I get through depression, lack of self confidence and many other trials, I have been able to discover the beauty of who I am.

Pocahontas, “Listen with your heart you will understand.” Listening to my heart has been a journey that has brought me to the amazing place that I am now. I have been able to find the courage to stand for what I believe in.

Tiana, “That old star can only take you part of the way. You gotta help it along with some hard work of your own.” One of my favorite lessons that I’ve taught my girls is the law of attraction. The things that we think of can manifest itself. It’ll only works out if you put your work into it. If I don’t take the time to write, it won’t matter how many publishers I meet.
Without a doubt, the Disney Princess that I can identify myself with is, Pocahontas.
Her love for her surroundings, learning of new cultures, following her heart, being bold and standing for what she believes in has always inspired me.
We all have that Disney Princess that has inspired us through the years and for many of us, we have that Princess that we can identify ourselves with.
