7 Practices of Finding Peace of the Mind

I began my journey for finding peace, after the lack of balance and peace of the mind. I had already begun my peace of the soul and I was working on finding my peace of the body.

We all have stress factors in our day to day life. Our minds are constantly replaying our past and how we could’ve done better. We stress over our present life status. Then, we end our day stressing over our future.

Many situations are inevitable, but the way we face them, whether positive or negative, can become predictable.

To have peace of the mind doesn’t mean that everything around you has to be perfect. Sometimes just the thought that follow the words, “I am…” can shift your life in either a good or bad direction.

We’ve spent years having our minds molded by those around us. Due to the molds used, we get the person that we see in the mirror today.

As a result, finding peace of the mind can take time.

My mind was full of my worthlessness, how ugly I looked, how bad a wife and mother I was and so on. All these thoughts kept me from seeing my progress physically and spiritually .

For me, it’s still a working progress. My favorite word has been “practice”. With everyday practice, we can mold our minds to whom we are meant to be.

Have you heard of the law of attraction? The things that you focus your mind in, is what you attract in your life.

Practices of finding peace of the mind:

  • Think of the things you want out of life and see yourself accomplishing them.
  • Speak of yourself as you want to be seen by others. I am no longer trying to be a blogger. I AM a blogger.
  • Write yourself a personalized mantra. Read it out loud to yourself every morning in front of a mirror. This is a great way to set an intention for the day.
  • That same mantra, keep it close to you. It will come in handy on days that aren’t going as we plan.
  • Don’t only see yourself accomplishing your purpose or say your daily mantra. I want you to FEEL the feelings of joy, gratitude and fulfillment.
  • Have the faith that good people and good things are coming your way.
  • Finally, trust in timing. Everything that we desire will come to us when timing is right. I am a motivational speaker. I’ve never spoken in front of a large group and if i did so at the moment, I would probably freeze. I trust that in time, I will gain the necessary experience to be on stage in front of many people.

Finding peace of the mind has been a wild roller coaster of good and bad days. Nevertheless, it is one ride worth sticking to. The finish line is amazing!
